What if we have some time to prepare?
Scientists have found out that exactly one week later, an unknown superpowered space creature will launch an original red/blue buttons problem on earth. It will kill the blue pressers if they are <50% and then disappear forever. Everyone votes, even children and disabled people. At the same time each person will be teleported into an empty room with two buttons and rules written in all languages of the world. Not pressing the button in 10 minutes = your choice will be randomized. Scientists notified people about this, and also launched a worldwide online voting to find out who wants to press which button. The results change all the time between 45-55% of red/blue button presses. This is not guarantee that people will vote like this when the time comes. People may lie about their choice or results can be affected by hacker attack or some other factors.
