I’m moving to Springfield, IL in the next few weeks and I’m still pretty new to the area. I’m trying to get a head start on sorting out internet before I get there but it looks like fiber isn’t available at my address.

I’ll be on the south side of Springfield just off Toronto Rd.

From what I can tell there are a few providers around (mostly cable, some fixed wireless options) but I’ve seen mixed reviews on all of them especially around reliability, slowdowns during peak hours, and price increases. I work remotely so having solid internet is really important for me. I don’t need anything super fast just something reliable with minimal downtime.

If anyone has local experience or recommendations I’d really appreciate it.
