Do you need to be a constable to get on as civilian role?

Currently internal controls and risk management analyst at a bank. Id rather apply my skills to something that matters more, bigge purpose.

However.. trying to contact anyone from recruiting for RCMP, OPP, CSIS or local police department feels impossible... (shares links to their careers website.. yeah I know thats why im reaching out)

I dont hardly ever see civilian roles even open...which makes me wonder if their all internally filled?

I dont understand what else I need to align myself towards the right roles and what I need to do to even be considered

What careers would help people while making a living??

I’m trying to figure out the best path where I can genuinely help people while still making a stable living. I currently work in fraud/risk/compliance in the financial sector, with experience in investigations, client protection, and operational risk. I’m also a volunteer firefighter, and I’ve been trying to get into civilian police/public safety related roles, but it’s been harder than I expected to get my foot in the door.

I’m drawn to work that protects or advocates for people in a meaningful way investigations, intelligence, fraud, victim support, public safety, etc. For those already in these fields: what careers have felt meaningful and sustainable long term?

How can I help people while making a living?

I’m trying to figure out a career path where I can genuinely help people while still making a stable living. I’m drawn to things like fraud prevention, investigations, compliance, public safety, and advocacy work that actually protects or supports others in meaningful ways.

For people who feel fulfilled by their work: what careers let you make a real impact and still pay the bills without burning yourself out?
