i work in retail, and am a casual sales assistant who works 3-4 days a week. i’m gobsmacked that i called in sick and my manager demanded a medical certificate. prior to working in retail i worked in corporate for years (was never once asked to provide a med cert). i provided one anyway as i needed to go to the GP but was kinda shocked to be asked. is this legal? or was my manager just being annoying ?
