Chinese is the first language I decided to learn. I don't know where to start.

I have no experience in language learning except for when i tried to learn Korean and quit after a week. Other than that, I have none. So I decided to learn Chinese because I thought it'll be useful in the future. However, I don't know where to start. I have no idea on wether i should read a book, follow a youtube video, learn through an app, etc. There are just so many choices that I don't really know what to pick. I heard Duolingo is actually really bad for people who want to learn because it slows down their progress. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me?
