I just made the full crystal armor set but I’m sitting at 70 shards and an inactive bofa. Doing zalcano in mass world and don’t know how far I should go with this grind. I’m looking to do toa without having to go back to zalcano for a while. I also have 82 thieving so can’t pickpocket elves.
Purging staff, eye of ayak, full virtus with orn kit, saturated heart, confliction gauntlets, magus ring, elidinis ward, eternal boots and osmumten’s fang make up the majority of my bank alongside roughly 85m in gp. I got spooned at yama with 4 oathplate pieces in my first 600 kills and I’m wondering what pvm content makes the most sense while waiting for fractured archives. Radiant oathplate still feels out of reach without gobbling up that 85m in attempts. What would you do here?
it took me a week (surprised it wasn’t longer after how it started). Outside of some sailing several months ago, I hadn’t played any rs. The last type of pvm I had done was the reawakened forms of DT2 bosses like 2 or 3 years ago. Not only did I have to learn the fight, I had to remember how to play. I spent like 3 days barely managing to get him to 2000 with most of my attempts dying at 2600-2800 hp. I had to learn every single attack from scratch. I was returning from break for a year or so when I finished DT2 and I can confidently say Drakan was on an entirely different level to them all. For those still struggling with the fight, I managed to learn something that helped me understand what to look for.
When his HP is at the 2800’s he’ll do his first slam attack that’s different to the 3 original swipes he does to start.
Anywhere from 2500 to 2600 he’ll do his first spear attack which is always the same attack. He’ll also have an additional attack on his spear slam move you see at around 2800. The additional spear attack can begin in the 2700s.
under 2400 HP he primarily uses spear attacks.
once you reach under 2100 and get an additional hit, you’ll get the jumping phase. Stick to the lower-mid section for your jumps and try not to go all the way to the back. When Drakan spawns and does his magic attack, you want room to get your dodges in.
If you don’t dodge correctly, you’ll have to do the jump phase again. If you do dodge correctly after the magic attacks, he’ll spawn back and continue with his regular attacks but faster. Alongside his regular attacks, he’ll mix in magic attacks that heal him until he’s under 1500 HP. Under 1500 HP he stops using the magic attack.
Once you reach 1200-1300 he’ll start adding in spear attacks again until you reach under 900 HP.
Under 900 HP he starts his after image attacks. If you don’t get the dodge right after his magic attack when he spawns back you’ll have to do it a 3rd time.
Once you’ve finished this phase, he’ll reach the last 400-500 HP where his attacks get even faster while dealing with the blood clots and lightning strikes that appear on the ground in the after image phase.
In the last 400-500 HP, his attacks can be too fast to keep up with, always lead him to somewhere with open space and give yourself the best visual advantage you can. This is the most hectic phase of the fight and can feel impossible until you understand how long you have to fight him for in that last phase.
This fight isn’t just hard, it requires you to learn it and get accustomed to the environment.
