Rent market is not "logic-ing" for me

How do all the nice, upmarket areas of Manchester have modern, fully furnished apartments that are more affordable than unfurnished apartments?

Unfurnished apartments are not in the upmarket areas and are often in old buildings with electric showers, carpets, shower curtains, breaking building parts, and are somehow more expensive.

Since when are furnished places in the best areas cheaper than unfurnished places? I purchased all my furniture 3.5 years ago when furnished barely existed, thinking I'd have an advantage when I move. But I see I acquired a burden!

Executive Assistant jobs UK

Hi. I want to know if anyone else is having issues with changing an EA position in UK? Been trying to get out my company for 2 years.

Changed my CV so many times - formatted to AI readable, wording, colors etc. Had professional CV writers, and they can't see anything wrong. I apply in any location I don't mind traveling to, also happy to relocate.

I'm being thrown out before even getting screening calls. I'm applying for any position I meet the criteria for. Even if it means a salary cut. I'm not just sticking to EA roles, also PA, admin, coordinator roles. And I'm just not making the cut. I don't know what it is that is wrong with me?

I’m moving for work in Manchester city, and need advice on two rental options. I don’t know the area.

1) Grant Court

  • Spacious corner flat, lots of windows and light
  • Ground floor and carpeted throughout except kitchen/bathroom
  • Not sure about transport links nearby
  • Feels like a nice space, but I’m unsure why it’s the only one still available

2) Furness Quays

  • Very small, limited natural light/ventilation
  • 15th floor, no carpets
  • Feels safer and closer to city centre + good transport

My requirements:

  • Under £1000, unfurnished
  • Good public transport to city centre during rush hour (don't drive)
  • Safe area (I’m a single woman of colour and have heard mixed things)
  • Close to groceries & social/friendly area would be a plus
  • No/low damp & mould (I’ve had issues)
  • Ideally no carpets (asthma, but ventilation helps)

If anyone lives in these areas or has experience with ground-floor flats, I’d really appreciate your thoughts.
