Some Changes to the List of French Palaces Coming Soon...
I personally don't put too much stock into this, but found this to be an interesting read. Am using an auto-translator, but some interesting excerpts:
- This is "the first time [they've] withdrawn it to several establishments".
- "For the Mandarin Oriental... [t]here was no sense in maintaining it..."
- However, it appears they're starting a large-scale renovation, so the timing might have just been very bad on their end.
- "The Hôtel du Palais [in Biarritz] suffered from having part of the rooms not renovated"
- "As for Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, it has not renewed enough.”
- "For the Mandarin Oriental... [t]here was no sense in maintaining it..."
- Some newcomers are apparently going to replace them
- "In Paris, Cheval Blanc, Fouquet’s and Bulgari are regularly mentioned; in Champillon in the Marne, the Hotel Royal Champagne."
- There are quite a few other properties that have opened since COVID (the last time they reviewed the list) which I can see making it (Paris, Versailles, French Riviera, Courchevel, St. Barts, etc.).
