Q-Symphony: Is it just marketing gimmick or worth giving up native DTS?

Hey everyone,

I’m torn between two setups for my Samsung S90C OLED and Samsung HW-Q800F soundbar (source is a Google TV Streamer 4K running Stremio).

Since Samsung TVs don't support DTS passthrough anymore, I have to choose between these two physical connections:

Option 1: Chromecast ➔ TV ➔ Soundbar (via HDMI 2.1 eARC)

  • Pros: Q-Symphony works perfectly.
  • Cons: DTS audio from Stremio is dead/silent.

Option 2: Chromecast ➔ Soundbar ➔ TV (via HDMI 2.1 eARC)

  • Pros: DTS works.
  • Cons: No Q-Symphony.

Is Q-Symphony actually worth losing native DTS, or do the TV speakers just ruin the Q800’s soundstage anyway?

How did you solve this in your setup? Thanks!
