We have bought a new garbage disposal for my mom's birthday in February from Amazon. She never had it installed, so I came to install it. It was never taken out of the box even.

After taking the old one off, and putting the new one on, I saw that it was damaged. See picture. The body of the disposal is damaged near the drain outlet from the disposal, including threaded hole on one side where the elbow flange is attached. It's mid May... Do I have any hope of returning or replacing it from the Amazon vendor?

I don't think securing it with one screw on one side tightened would be good in this situation?

Any ideas?
