Can I use the jump rings I have or do I cut my loss and buy the right size?

I apparently, can’t get the hang of buying the correct size of jump rings for chainmail projects. I have jump rings that don’t match any of the projects I’ve been wanting to try and when I DO try to find tutorials with the ring sizes I have, it’s not the correct one. For example, I have rings that are 12mm (outer diameter, still trying to find the inner diameter size) with a 1.4mm thickness (or a 15 gauge) and I just can’t find a tutorial with that size ring.

Some other size rings I have:
10mm outer diameter, 1.2mm thickness
8mm outer diameter, 1.2mm thickness
6mm outer diameter, 1mm thickness

I’ve done projects with other size rings where I have to sit there and tinker with different sizes or use more rings and it get frustrating after a while. I’m trying to figure out if there is a way I can still use these rings for chainmail projects/weaves or should I just put them aside and get the “proper” sizes.

Side note: they won’t totally go to waste since I like making other jewelry
