A quick question if anyone can advise please. My booked train has been cancelled (standard class). The operator is allowing travel on the 2 services before and 2 after and I have decided to travel on one of these services.

Could I buy a Seatfrog 1st class upgrade for the service I am now intending to travel on, in order to get a guaranteed seat? I contacted their customer service and they said no seats are available to reserve (presumably in standard) and I'd have to try the unreserved coaches. Surely though if I got a 1st class seat through seatfrog I would get one assigned in first class. My ticket is now valid on this earlier service due to the cancellation, so I can't see an issue with travelling on it. Thanks in advance!
