Missing left kidney
My Genevieve came out of her spay surgery today, and the surgeon called me to tell me that she was missing her left uterine horn and her left kidney. I’m going in at 3 PM to pick her up. I’m very upset. The last six months have been very difficult for me and pets. I’ve contacted the Breeder, who has requested the surgical notes and has been very empathetic.
I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else has a cat that is missing a kidney and if there’s anything I should know? Can they live long healthy lives? I read online that if they have any kidney issues, down the line this can be pretty serious. And the Vet also said that I will have to do regular screenings on her. I’m trying not to panic but I’m also trying to be realistic.
