Is the Frame even the best option for my particular use?

Been following the Frame for a little bit now, as I honestly haven't dabbled much with VR since the Rift. It all sounds great, however at the same time, seems like OVERKILL for what I'm likely to use it for, so I figured I'd try for a sanity check here. I don't know much about other available headsets, besides that the Quest seems to be the main one out there, and I want to avoid Meta/Facebook if possible.

I expect to mainly use the VR headset for gaming and watching movies, however I expect I'll always be seated just a few feet away from my PC, so it makes sense to just use the PC to handle all the processing of the games, while the headset is reduced to really only being a "viewer." I don't feel like I need an actual PC on my head, when really I'm just interested in the view. Makes sense for me to just use something that the PC can stream to via wifi or USB.

Main thing I do NOT want is anything Meta/Facebook adjacent. Having to deal with that stuff is a large part of what made me stop using the Rift years ago.

With these criteria, is there some other headset that might be a viable fit for me besides the Frame? I'm not in any hurry to get a headset, so I can wait for the Frame if its the best option, but the wait also got me thinking that maybe something else is out there that might work for me (besides a Quest)...

EDIT: Thanks for all the feedback! Wasn't expecting to get quite so much response, but its good that it all seems fairly similar in that the Frame probably is the best option, or at least the simplest. I'll take a look at the Pico 4 Ultra, as that also had a number of references and seems close-ish. My budget is roughly in the $1K range, but I don't really have that hard of a limit. Less expensive would be generally welcome, of course. So unless the Frame comes in way over $1K, I think I'll just wait it out, unless the Pico wows me.
