Time Machine Build (5/16+5/17 update)

Spent the whole weekend in the shop and got a ton done, including the FLUX CAPACITOR!

The entirety of Saturday comprised of running and attaching all of the exterior wiring and tubing down the sides of the car that connect the front Flux boxes to the roof-mounted ones. Something I thought would take a couple hours quickly consumed the entire day. Also added some hoses to the rear deck.

Sunday I finished up a bit of the exterior wiring rigging, including underneath the rear of the car between the rear flux boxes. Then came the assembly and installation of the flux capacitor, which has been long-awaited. Also, I wired up some indicator lights from the TFC drive to the overhead console that tell me if different elements of the exterior lighting are on.

Still waiting on the rear vents and flux bands, but I should have a fully-done Time Machine in my garage in a few weeks!

Time Machine Build (5/9 update)

Added the lights for the exhaust vents. These are controlled by a switch on the TFC box, so I can turn them off. Added lights to the Reactor base and mounted a speaker too - it will light up and make sounds once fully wired (opening the reactor/Mr.Fusion will make a hiss sound, crackling, etc)

Used some spare vents laying around to position the deck and drill holes for wiring, was really exciting to see what’s to come! My vents are being welded together and will most likely be one of the last parts I add to the car, along with the Flux Capacitor.

Interior work included wiring up the door plungers so they make the door opening sounds. The avionics bay is looking beautiful - the organization of the wiring is very nice and neat and easy to track, all done with care by Bruce Coulombe, I can’t take credit for that work!

Turning the control arm and seeing the time circuit display light up was definitely a highlight of the build so far.

Wired up the High Voltage Regulator, SID, TFC switch and digital speedo today.

Passenger side pontoon deck 100% complete, and tested two wired props: ATO Mufflers and Tachyon Pulse Generator. Added the accumulator tubes/emergency coolant tanks, reactor power control, reactor temperature regulator and cooling system capacitor.

Real feeling of accomplishment to flick the switch and see everything light up as it should; I’ve never been great at soldering, but this project is sharpening that skillset quickly.
