Making progress with mama cat!
I decided to babysit a mama cat and her 5 kittens for a short weekend. I’ve only ever fostered 1-2 kittens, so this was my first family. The animal shelter told me mama was a little scared and growly of humans due to another person coming at her too fast. I’ve never had experience with a mama and babies so this was all new to me.
At first she would growl at me whenever I would walk by but I tried my best to show she could trust me by setting out food, being slow/quiet, respecting boundaries, and avoiding eye contact. Just now she randomly decided to come out and jump right next to me on the sofa! Now she’s purring, letting me touch her, and she’s rubbing herself on me! 🖤
