Hi everyone,

Here’s my current situation and I’d appreciate any advice or insights.

I have not been selected in the H-1B lottery yet. My current Day 1 CPT master’s program is expected to finish in summer 2027. I’m now considering whether enrolling in a Day 1 CPT doctoral program would be a reasonable option to maintain status and continue working.

I also wanted to ask about the chances of successfully obtaining a new F-1 visa stamp while enrolled in a Day 1 CPT doctoral program. Has anyone gone through a similar situation or had experience with visa stamping under a Day 1 CPT PhD/doctoral program?
