what is a VFX supervisor?
seems like a title that could mean quite a lot of different things.
correct me I'm wrong.
VFX supervisor v1 - a master of its craft with years of experience, started as a junior artist and up the ladder. background usually in comp, lighting, fx, generalist etc. VFX brain behind the visuals of a project.
VFX supervisor v2 - a guy who wanted to work in movies, have Hollywood friends, watched some behind a scenes or opened a Photoshop a few times. started because he was mate of directors mate and it went. glorified on set "VFX" coordinator who learnt on the job.
there are probably v3 and v4. probably many legit but some seems like V2.
something like being a doctor and being a doctor by having a phd in Tea Husbandry.
