Hey everyone, I just wanted to ask if anyone has tips or extra things i can do for my mint? These were two mint plants that i grew seperately then merged into this bigger pot. All the videos i see online are mint with spear like vertical growth the length of my forearm thats so easy to prune and mine feels more like a horizontal forest with tiny stems and leaves that i cant harvest or handle, so im wondering if im doing something wrong haha. I also prune or pick the top set of leaves whenever they reach about 3-4 inches. Also this a square pot about 8 inches x 8 inches, and somewhere around 8 inches deep as well, is this too small for these two plants or does it work?

This is planted on an east facing balcony that gets about 4+ hours of strong morning sun, unfiltered. The forks are just a way for me to pin down the runners so that id get vertical growth from each of them.

Also a couple of questions:

  1. Should i let my mint grow longer before i prune or cut back? So maybe 6-8 inches or longer then i cut back to 3 or 4?
  2. Am i expecting to be able to harvest for tea etc too early and should i give it some time?
  3. I see lots of videos online of people heavily pruning it down to base instead of cutting off the tips and they say thats what they do to harvest every 3-4 weeks only, is that the correct way to go about this?

Thank you all in advance🙏
