‼️Protecting artists from AI voice clones: A proposal for Spotify

Hello everyone and thank you for your attention. Next is the proposal I made to Spotify. I'll add the link to my post on Spotify Community at the end so you can support this idea by voting it, if you agree, to give it the attention it deserves.

I truly hope we can stop these bad people and protect the artists we love🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

///

The goal is to implement an AI filter to detect and block anyone trying to upload a song created with AI by copying the voice and style of other artists, whether famous or lesser-known.

(Note: I have already reported the specific profile mentioned below to Spotify Support and they recommended I propose this idea in the community).

I am suggesting it because I recently came across a profile on Spotify that is doing exactly this: they have uploaded multiple AI-generated songs that clone and mimic the voices and styles of major artists like Michael Jackson, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, and others —and the results sound shockingly real.

This is a major issue for copyright, artist identity, and intellectual property.

How it could work:

Just as bad actors are training AI models to mimic the voices and styles of famous artists to create fake songs, Spotify and the artists themselves could do the reverse: by securely "registering" the authentic vocal prints and stylistic traits of verified artists into a dedicated database, Spotify could train a protective AI model.

This system would automatically screen new uploads. If the AI recognizes a registered voice or style, but the song IS NOT being uploaded by that artist's official, verified profile, the system would immediately block the upload.

While a human review team could initially double-check these flags, a well-programmed system would largely run itself, allowing legitimate artists to easily appeal if a false positive occurs.

Spotify needs a proactive, preventative system to stop these unauthorized AI clones from being distributed on the platform from the very beginning.
