Late Dropoff
Hi pet lovers! Just coming on here to rant a bit.
I have a sweet doggy coming over for boarding today and confirmed at 11am that dropoff would be at 1pm. At 12:45pm the parents said they were running late and it’d be between 2-3pm. At 2:30 they said 3:15/30 latest. At 3:30 I hadn’t heard from them and they just updated that they’re leaving soon, should be here by 4:15.
So basically, I’ve been sitting in my house since 11am expecting pup to get here at 1pm and have been stuck here since because the parents keep changing the time, and now I’ve wasted 3-5 hours of my day waiting.
I have 3 flexible dropins that I thought I wouldn’t have time to do before 1pm, and turns out I absolutely had time to do them before they arrived. If they had initially said they would be coming at 4pm (or even any time after 2pm), I absolutely would’ve gone to the dropins already.
Now I have worse traffic to deal with and will have to wait until their pup has had dinner to go to the dropins, so my entire schedule is thrown off and I feel like I’ve wasted my free time and have been “on” all day. I could’ve been done with my dropins and pickup and spent the evening at home, but no.
For context, I’ve worked with this family for years and I’ve always done dropoff/pickup but they decided to do it this time. I absolutely love them and their dog, but this is killing me. If they knew they’d be late, could they not have given me a more realistic time rather than changing it every hour so I’m on the hook waiting?
