if you attended mites summer/semester, what was your experience with the project elective?

like i know the general descriptions of the electives they offer (like genomics, robotics, etc.), but i was wondering what they were actually like in practice

for example -
- what elective did you take, and what kind of project did you work on day to day?
- did any of the bio/genomics options feel like real research or lab-style work, or were they more conceptual/data-based?
- how much of the project work is self-driven vs. highly structured?

i’m also interested in the biomedical-related electives and what the workload + final project were like, since i’m a prospective applicant, so any insight about that would be appreciated
