If Connor interrogated Daniel, how would it play out?

In the Hostage chapter, Daniel “dies” in all of the endings. Now, I’ve been wondering: What if Daniel didn’t shut down? What if he was taken to the DPD and reactivated there immediately? I know Connor only becomes part of the DPD/Hank’s partner months after the events of the Hostage, but for the sake of speculation let’s imagine this was a situation similar to that of Carlos Ortiz’s android (also known as Shaolin).

While I absolutely love the Interrogation chapter, no previous choices/endings affect the interrogation itself. In “Partners”, either Connor finds Shaolin or he doesn’t, plus they barely interact. In the Hostage, however, there are 6 endings, each with the potential to drastically influence the interrogation: Connor can execute Daniel, Daniel can shoot Connor, Daniel can be shot by the snipers after trusting Connor, Connor can die protecting Emma + Daniel falls, Daniel can fall alone + Emma saved, or both Daniel and Emma fall.

The main goal of the chapter was to extract a confession, but since we wouldn’t need this from Dan for obvious reasons, we would likely be interrogating him primarily about deviancy. Still, what exactly? About when he started becoming self-aware/feeling? His motivations?

Daniel wouldn’t act the exact same way as Shaolin. How different would it be if Emma lived or died? Would Daniel refuse to talk, or would he actually speak to Hank at first? Or Gavin? How would he talk to Connor, especially depending on the ending/previous choices? What would be some interesting dialogue options? What would be our choices? Showing pictures of the family/Emma, like with the files of Ortiz’s body? Probing memory? Would he kill himself like Ortiz’s android did? If yes, for what reasons? What would ultimately happen to him, depending on the interrogation?

Note: When Emma expresses her fear of dying, Daniel is visibly distressed. You can feel the pain in his voice when he yells “She lied to me! I thought she loved me… but I was wrong.” He clearly loved the Phillips, and there are many other instances of him expressing regret (In the evidence room, he says he was scared and didn’t want any of that to happen), yet there are others of him being quite cold (“all humans die eventually”, him wanting revenge on Connor). I’m not saying he’s a sweet angel who’s done nothing wrong, but he isn’t a psychopath serial killer either.

(I am NOT saying we should’ve interrogated Daniel instead, it’s just an “what-if” scenario)

How much would Connor actually cost?

At Jimmy’s Bar, Connor tells Hank he is “worth a small fortune”. Now, I’ve been wondering: Just how much money are we talking about?

Connor is an RK800 prototype, the most advanced android in the history of Cyberlife. He can reconstruct entire crime scenes in minutes, analyze biological evidence in real time just by looking at it, parkour (Rupert chase), hacking, instantly predict every possible fight scenario and plan accordingly to win, easily kill a SWAT squad (Captain Allen, Cyberlife Tower’s guards) in seconds, has perfect affinity with weapons (guns, sniper rifle), and there’s probably a lot more things he can do that I didn’t mention.

Connor is probably the most expensive android in-game, and I can’t even imagine how much he would cost in the real world (Today, Boston Dynamics’ Atlas costs up to $300,000).
So, how much do you think Connor costs in-universe? And irl?
Since I’m talking about this, how much would a household android like Kara or Daniel cost today?

(Note: In the game, the price of household androids is around $7,999 for newer models, and while I’m sure more advanced androids must cost a lot more, this seems to be the average price.)

EDIT: What if only the Connor we play in-game got sent to the real world now, then how much would he cost?

AITAH for wanting to replace our old PL600 android for a newer, better model?

About 4 years ago, me (38M) and my wife (37F) bought a PL600 android to take care of the house, which our daughter (9F) decided to name “Daniel”. It has worked very well up until now, cleaning the house, cooking, and taking care of our daughter.

However, in 2038, the PL600 is just obsolete. It is slower, weaker, less efficient, and its AI is less advanced than every single household model released after it. I work at a prestigious company, and my coworkers and friends have already started questioning me about why I still keep such an old android, when so many better ones are available.

Well, I talked over this with my wife, and she agreed with the decision. The only problem is that our daughter is never going to agree. For context, she spends a lot of time with it - playing games, drawing, making bracelets, etc. Long story short, she treats the thing as if it were a person.

A few months ago, my wife tried to ask her if she wouldn’t like a new android. The result was that she threw a fit, saying that Daniel was part of the family and that it was her “best friend”.

We haven’t brought this up since, and for a while we dropped the idea. However, with Cyberlife releasing the AP700, a state of the art housekeeper android, I realized that keeping Daniel just isn’t worth it anymore. Also, even though she is attached to it now, she will forget about it in less than a month once we get a newer, better android.

As I’ve said to my wife, it’s the same thing as the time we got a new roomba - our daughter was sad at first, but she moved on and now we have better appliances. Daniel is a machine, the equivalent of a glorified roomba, and she only likes it because it looks like a person (she wouldn’t be crying over a calculator, for example).

We haven’t decided for sure yet, but we’re already sure we can’t resell it due to how old it is, so if we do replace it it’s probably going to a junkyard. I’m still talking with my wife about this, but I just wanted to know: AITAH? How should I talk with my daughter about this? How do I convince her? Is this a good idea?

Headcannon/Theory: The anti-android protesters in the Shades of Color chapter were the delinquents that attacked Ralph.

This is going to be long…

I know those protesters weren’t the only people attacking androids in Detroit, but I think it’s such an interesting (and quite dark) way of connecting the characters: Protesters threaten to “teach Markus a lesson”, and Kara finds out what happens when they actually go with it…

- They shove Markus to the ground, surround him and threaten to beat him, all while insulting and yelling at him.

- Considering just how violent and aggressive the protesters were in that scene, it's safe to assume it's not their first time doing something like this.

- If they are bold enough to do this in a crowded park in the middle of the day, in front of a police officer (the only reason they stopped), imagine what they’d do at night, with no one around, if they decided to beat up an android for fun…

- In the wiki, it says the protest leader might have a criminal record (in the chapter Waiting for Hank, he can be seen in one of the cells at the police station).

- They were willing to attack a household android, and even then they would just be fined.

 - Ralph is a WR600, he was one of 5,000 owned by the city, it would be less problematic if one of them disappeared or ended up being damaged.

- There are several WR600s around the park where they were protesting (doesn’t mean Ralph worked in that park specifically though), and there was pretty much nothing stopping anyone from just walking up to one of them and attacking them.

- If you look at Ralph’s face, you can see that he wasn’t only burned with a knife, he also got beaten: part of his face is dented, plus the overall damage to his skin. If the delinquents just wanted to “have fun” or were “curious”, they would have just burned him until they got bored. Instead, Ralph got beaten with enough strength to dent reinforced plastic (only someone angry at androids would do this):

-1) It’s likely they used other weapons to attack him, such as baseball bats or any blunt force weapons (think back to the way they surrounded Markus, there’s no way only the protest leader would beat him while everyone else just watched).

-2) The worst damage is in Ralph’s face, which means he was beaten to the ground. Outdoor work androids seem to be reinforced/stronger + Ralph deviated out of fear (there’s no way he didn’t react at all to the attack), so it probably took a lot of people and time to damage him as badly as he is in-game.

(sorry for mistakes, English isn’t my first language)
