Access and Elitism in Theatre

Hi everyone! I’m an HSC (Australian High School Certificate) Drama student and am currently doing my individual project as a critical analysis report on Class and elitism being barriers to theatre audience members, aspiring theatre students, and theatre practitioners. As part of my primary research I have written up a questionnaire, any and all responses would be GREATLY appreciated. It’s 100% anonymous and shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes to complete, thank you so much for your help! (Any spam responses will be deleted).

For any curious cats out there, my hypothesis is: “The rising costs of production and ticketing, combined with the increasing commercialisation of Australian theatre culture, reinforce class based elitism within the industry. This economic barrier limits access for audiences and opportunities for aspiring students, shaping who is able to participate in and experience theatre in Australia.”
