Is it necessary?

My rifle came with x-22 and a standard barrel. I have a bull barrel coming tomorrow and a different stock coming later so I won't bother getting the bull profile cradle, but if I can just remove the cradle and shoot the bull barrel without a it that would be nice. I'll live either way.
