Questions for moms with littles in school during chemo
Hello! For those moms who have littles in school while undergoing chemo, what was your set up? How did you make sure you don’t get sick during the treatment?
Context: I am officially diagnosed with HSTCL. I am currently doing prednisone and cyclophosphamide for now while I am still pregnant. My LO is in a 3 day school and he brought home cough and colds one day which eventually got me too. Fortunately, I was able to get over it with the help of antibiotics. But next school year he will be in Pre-K 3. My husband and I are on the fence about keeping him at home vs sending him to school. But with a newborn at home too, we thought sending him to school would at least give us a short break at least 5 days a week and he does enjoy school, so we wanna keep sending him. But our biggest worry is, I will start with ICE treatment after I give birth to our second one. I expect my immune system to be low or almost inexistent immediately after the treatment. My husband fears that our kid could bring home something from school that could make me very sick.
