I'm currently writing a story with erotica in it and I'm thinking of adding a scene where the character gets so-called "blue balls." However, being a woman, I have no clue what that means beyond a vague concept.

I've asked my partner this question, but his only answer is a shrug, followed by "I dunno what to tell you." I adore him, but boy is that answer unhelpful...

Therefore, here I am, asking and hoping for a better answer.

When do "blue balls" occur most frequently? How does it feel? How long does it take to subside?
