Hello all,

I really need some advice. I graduated in 2022 with my HR degree and started in state HR that August. My role was full cycle recruitment with a little compensation work mixed in.

A few months ago I was moved into Leaves even though I had no experience in it. We have around 1,700 employees and about 300 active leave cases. I am still learning the basics and the only person who actually knows the process is leaving the agency. I feel like I am being left alone with something I was never trained for.

I am trying to keep up, but I am honestly burnt out and drowning. The workload is heavy, the learning curve is steep, and I feel like I am constantly one mistake away from something blowing up.

If you have ever transitioned into Leaves with no background, what helped you get through it? What should I focus on first so I can at least stay afloat?
