Need help as king

Hi everybody, so I need some advice. I’m at the year 1239 as the high king of Ireland, and, while things seeeeem to be going good, I feel like I’m at the peak of a hill before the fall and want to prevent it.

See, I just took over Scotland, unfortunately, that hostile take over came with three more powerful vassals who all want positions in court that I can’t give without pissing off my other vassals. Also, I got some more regions for myself now, and no one but me seems to be happy about it.

Additionally, Scotland had quite a bit of territory when I took it over, and now, there are five new counties that I need to bring to heel, or else risk revolt.

Next up, my beloved son and heir Salamon. Both he and his son are slow…and I’m a bit worried that wouldn’t do me any favors in the future. I have another son, and two daughters, but I don’t know what to do about Salamon without causing a bit of a tiff, as he’s really popular and is my undisputed heir at the moment.

Finally, I wanna go to war with Wessex. I have the army, the friends, the money, the prestige, but I really don’t wanna go to war while possibly having to deal with revolting counties and vassals at the same time. Oh and by the way, my current king is 51, so we’re in a bit of a time crunch. Any advice would be wonderful to hear!
