BCG case interview prep for AI Solution Architect role — live case + case presentation. Recent experience?

Got a BCG case round scheduled for an **AI Solution Architect role**: two 60-min case interviews, one live case and one case presentation.

Looking for recent firsthand experience:

- Live case — standard MBB structure (framework → analysis → recommendation) or more architecture/tech-focused?

- Case presentation — prep time, slides expected, what do they actually evaluate?

- Biggest pitfalls / what got you dinged?

- Any prep resources that actually helped?

DMs welcome if you'd rather not share publicly. Will post a debrief after for anyone behind me.

Got a first-round functional interview for an AI Solution Architect position at BCG. Not the standard case track — this is the technical/domain-specific round.

I've been in Big 4/consulting for several years doing AI/ML solution architecture, so I'm not new to the space — but BCG's interview process is a first for me, and functional rounds seem like a different animal. There's almost nothing online about them for AI/ML roles specifically.

Would really appreciate input from anyone who's been through it:

  • What was the actual format? Did they go deep on ML system design, or was it more client-scenario-based?
  • Were there any curveball topics you didn't expect?
  • What prep actually moved the needle vs. what was a waste of time?
  • Any specific resources, frameworks, or mock formats that helped?

Also open to DMs if you'd rather not share publicly. Will post a debrief after for anyone coming behind me.
