Planning a solo trip to north Argentina for September. Current plan as follows:

- 1 night in Salta
- 2 nights in Purmamarca
- 1 night in Cafayate
- 1 night in Salta before flying back to BA

My idea would be to get a rental car and had few questions on that

- suv mandatory?
- should i be worried about road conditions? I am a good driver, but I am afraid I may get stuck somewhere for a puncture and stuff
- is the area safe?

Any other recommendations?
