To make a long story short, my grandmother-in-law has been hospitalized and in care due to worsening dementia and strokes. She has a dog, and the person who's supposed to be taking care of him has "forgotten" or failed to do so, resulting in the dog peeing and pooping on the wooden floors all throughout the living room. It's bad enough that the floors will likely have to be replaced, but in the short term I just want it to actually be clean enough to feel comfortable walking on, and to get rid of the smell because I'm severely allergic and because I have a kid who doesn't need to be around that.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm desperate, because we're looking at moving in so we can care for the grandmother, who will be returning shortly after we move in.
