Advice for cyanotype print on glass
I’m an absolute newbie and I would like as many advice and tips as possible to start cyanotype printing on these rectangle glass vases! I have heard about cyanotype for so long and have been planning to try it out!!
Recently for a final course project I want to do a photography exhibition on glass. I tried image transfer using mod podge but did not had a good result (see second image). Now I’m thinking of trying out cyanotype and actually mindblowned by how good cyanotype on glass looks. My problem is that I have never actually did any practice in this technique and I have about 3 weeks before the deadline.
These are some questions I have!
- The surface on my glass vases are not perfectly flat. Does that effect the outcome of the print?
- I did some research and 10% gelatin should be mixed and heated up with the mixture, to what degree should it be heated up?
- I have read that I can tape the other sides while working on one side. Which tape is the best for this? And in which way should I tape it up? Should I tape outside and inside of the glass vase or just the outside?
Or if you have any other tips on working on glass pls pls comment! Thank you soo soo much🥺🥺💖💖💖😭😭🔥🔥
