Thoughts on Inmotion V11 Battery Cell Replacement?
Hi, I'm new to this subreddit but I'm having my first battery problem with my Inmotion V11 in the last few years I've had this wheel. I've already been helped by Inmotion (Uploaded logs and remote access to reset BMS) and they said I need to replace both my battery packs.
Since this will likely be a recurring issue in the future and that it is almost $1000 for both battery packs, I'm thinking about just replacing the bad battery cells. For $1000, I can likely buy a used V11 with a whole V11's worth in spare parts so it doesn't seem worth it to buy just the battery packs.
I'm asking the community if they had experience in replacing the cells of the battery (Samsung INR21700-50E). I have not been able to find videos on cell replacement so I'm not sure what tools (spot welder?) or materials are needed.
Although I will upgrade to a longer range and faster wheel in the future, I want to keep the V11 to use for slower rides and it's much lighter so I can carry it with one hand up stairs so any help is appreciated!
