Judge Weller Still Hates Women and has No Business being a Family Law Judge
Posting from an alt account because I’ve been fucked over enough in real life and don’t want to risk anything getting worse.
My child’s father was an abusive man. We left after he pushed my baby and I down the stairs. Nevada judges, of course, consider this “he said, she said.” Though that’s a different story.
The man in question makes a lot of money. In tech. His child support was automatically set to over a thousand a month, because he makes a ton of money.
He decides that he’s done paying for his child after only a year or two, and decides to quit his job and switch to gig/contract work. Which is easier to dodge enforcement with, and easier to lie about.
So he petitions the court to have his child support modified because he’s “unemployed.”
Judge Weller gets assigned the case.
I bring every snippet of proof I have, INCLUDING what child support enforcement themselves found (reaching out to some of the gig employers I found) of evidence that he has been working and earning during his “unemployment.” Tips from former friends, unavailability for visitation due to “jobs,” everything. I risk everything, because I know moving forward, he will be even more careful about ensuring I have no information.
Judge Weller asks him to explain himself. He is so clearly lying that Judge Weller has to remind him several times that he is under oath.
Despite my evidence. Despite the evidence child support enforcement had found to back up my claims, Judge Weller drops the child support obligation to “unemployment” levels, and tells him to get a job by his next court date.
He doesn’t. Doesn’t even show up for the next hearing. Judge Weller shrugs and says “oh well, nothing I can do.” Order comes through that because the man in question didn’t provide proof of income, it can’t be modified away from the “unemployment.”
Judge Weller got “training” on the misogynistic vitriol he spewed about women belonging in the kitchen. Supposedly he retired, but he’s still out here making sure that abusive men that lie aren’t held accountable. And battered women that can barely survive are left footing the bill for expensive appeals and attempts to hold the men that hurt them accountable.
And before I get any bullshit about “you shouldn’t have had a kid with him” - I was financially abused and raped. Hard to get an abortion when he tracks your phone and sold your car, then chased away all your friends and family.
I don’t really care if anyone believes me anymore. That’s the reality for women that get abused and raped in this country.
If any other battered woman comes across this post, I pray you don’t have Judge Weller overseeing your case.
