more extreme slide weight reduction

I've got an open class set up Rival-S, and looking at reducing the slide weight, why has no one run any slide cut down like a Keltec P17 style on any brand? seems like taking the weight way, way down on a comped and ported gun could nearly eliminate recoil outright. Down to milling the entire slide 1-2/100th" thinner, and shaving fractions of a gram inside the slide. Heavy gun with virtually no weight on a slide would be interesting to see. After my holster is done, I may have to go to a machine shop and see exactly how far we could take this slide down.

decided to keep this easy. A3 vertical grip, Carbine bolt carrier, Rise Armament 3.5lb Single stage trigger, and a Rex Silentium can mounted to a 3/4" barrel extension (probably should have only did a 1/2"). Very pleasant shooting now and minimal gassing for a left handed shooter without having to buy a new low back pressure can.
