Update on course request stuff

In an earlier post I made, I talked about how I expected a 5 in Calc BC, and you recommended to go straight to MA 261. As you can see, I did that, so hopefully, that happens.

I do still have a question though about the physics. I got a 4 in physics 1, and a 5 in physics 2, so I only satisfied 1 of the physics requirements for my college of science requirements. Since I got 5’s in the physics cs, can I expect to fulfill the rest of those requirements, or is it possible that I’ll still have to take a physics class.

I also got a 5 in psych, but that isn’t a requirement. I was wondering if I can get credit for the psych elective.

Thoughts and suggestions

Here’s the context: I was an honors student in hs with a 4.27 W and 3.67 (not a joke) UW GPA. I’m in the honors college at Purdue, and am going to major in actuarial science this semester, and I also hope to double major in applied math sometime in the future. This’ll be my first semester at Purdue btw.

The first 2 courses (ENTR 200 and HONR 19901) are required, so I’m leaving them be.

I originally requested MA 162, since I took BC this year (and am pretty sure I’m getting a 5), but didn’t learn much about vectors. I made another post here about taking 162 or 261, and you overwhelmingly said to take 261, which is why I changed it and am waiting for approval.

I requested ACCT 200 since I took an accounting class in hs, did well, and also won some state competitions for it in FBLA, so I figured the course wouldn’t be too difficult, and could act as a refresher. In case this is important, I took both micro and macroeconomics junior year of hs and got 5s on both.

I put STAT 170 since my 5 in AP stats apparently doesn’t cover it, and it’s a major requirement.

I put SCLA 101 for a similar reason, except I didn’t take the AP exams for lit or lang.

TLDR: what are your opinions on my course requests for a first semester honors actuarial science major who has some previous knowledge in all but the first 2 and last course.

16 credits btw, which I know is on the upper end of the recommended range.

MA 16200 or MA 26100

Hey guys. I’m a freshman majoring in actuarial science, and am wondering whether or not I should take MA 16200 or MA 26100.

I took the AP exams for Calc AB (5) last year and BC this year, and I’m expecting a 5. That satisfies my calc 2 requirement, so I can go straight to Calc 3, but I was checking out the past Calc 2 exams, and there are stuff about vector projections and perpendicular vectors and stuff that I did not learn. I did well on everything other than that however.

I’m just wondering if I can expect myself to be able to learn the vector stuff over the summer and be prepared for Calc 3, or if I should brush up on Calc 2 my first semester this fall.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Dorm Essentials

I’m a rising freshman in the honors college, and am just wondering what the essentials are so I know what to bring/buy. I would also love if you also listed additional stuff that, while not essential, can be very helpful, since I’d rather overpack than underpack.
