Sauna/Plunge + MOBILITY class?
Hi all, new to sub. Looking to gather some thoughts from the mobility-curious/enthusiasts/trainers in here.
I’m planning to open a wellness studio in a metro area, Midwest. The concept is contrast therapy: hot-cold-relax circuits. Communal model (large group sauna and plunges -rather than private “pods”)
If you have an eye on this space, then you probably know these businesses are very trendy, popping up all over the US at small to large scales with different models/price points/offerings. So I’ve been brainstorming ways to differentiate the offering from direct competitors + alternative options..
Mobility is something I’ve been exploring as part of the core offering. (My hips are absolutely cooked from 10+ years of desk job)
The experience would look something like:
Check in, attend a 30 min, certified trainer-led, group mobility class in a matted studio. Chill electronic music playing. The program would active/upbeat but not intense. Class ends, now hit the thermal circuit for 30 mins. Rinse off and be on your way.
*it’s also meant to be fun/social. this is not a “spa” experience, not a “clinical” type one either. Something in between.
Questions related to the mobility aspect:
- is this a good/bad idea? Would you pay a reasonable $ for this?
- what would a good program/class format look like?
- any other considerations?
Thank you!!
