The cover was two women in a car with the top down, water color or eric carle motif. One was a young girl with buzzed hair, the other a pregnant latina wearing sunglasses and a headscarf? The book was about a young girl who disguised herself as a boy and ran away from home with her pregnant nanny? maid? There was a language barrier? its such a vague memory!

The clearest scene i remember is when the girl walks into a barber shop, remembering once that a friend told her if she ever has to go into one, to ask for "A One, all over" and the barber says, "Are you sure?" and she insists.

And the pregnant woman is looking for her husband/boyfriend who does later find them at the hospital.
