Is there an in-universe explanation for stalemate?

For example, en passant can be explained by the fact that a soldier would have the opportunity to stop another soldier trying to pass by him.

The rule about not being able to castle through check would be explained by the idea that the king would need to pass by those squares to get to the other side, so the enemy piece controlling that square would be able to capture the king there. Even though the king doesn't actually touch those squares.

So is there a reason why stalemate is a draw that makes sense within the idea of a war?

Is peeling the shells of Morning Glory seeds after soaking them a good idea?

Would this reduce the nausea while not reducing the potency?

I saw this method from another post:

"You put the whole seeds in water for 15 hours. After that the shell becomes soft. You can easily get the white seed out of shell. You do it for each of them. Tedious, I know but ultimately rewarding. After that you grind the seeds(you don’t need a grinder for that, they’re soft) and eat them."
