are 6 month fixed contracts (renewable for 6 months) common?

I recently got a job that is a 6 month fixed term contract, but it is renewable for 6 months with no limit. Are these types of contracts common in Japan? Or is it pretty suspicious?

I submitted my one month notice. How did the transition work?

I just submitted my one month notice of resignation to the BOE. Since the 2nd semester is about to start, I am curious for anyone who had experience leaving in the middle of the year and how you transitioned out.

Did the schools still make you teach classes during second semester?
How did you communicate to your JTEs or students?

Anything I should expect? Of course people are not going to be happy so I am not expecting them to necessarily cheer me on, but I just want to know what it was like resigning in the middle of the year.

Am I losing weight too fast? First time cutting.

Hello,
29 years old. 163cm. Male.

I started my cut around 2 weeks ago. Now on day 16 of my cut. I started my cut around the weight of 59kg (5.5 months of bulking) because I felt like my body fat was getting too high. I was at around 19%.

I have been eating around 1650 calories a week and I am starting to wonder whether it is too aggressive. In two weeks, I dropped to around 56.5kg. I know that some of it could be potentially water weight, but I am worried that I might be losing too much muscle mass along the way. I would like to do it in a way where I do not lose too much muscle mass but also cut down to 12% body fat.

I wanted to get some thoughts here! Let me know if you have any questions.
