Prospect Park loop slant/ lower back pain
I live in Brooklyn and mostly run in Prospect Park. I’m 44 years old, new to running in the last few years, and training for a half marathon. I went on my longest run in a couple of years yesterday—7 miles. The right side of my lower back feels really out of whack and I’m wondering if that might have to do with the way the loop pavement is pitched. I always start from Grand army and move with the regular flow of runners starting on the west side is the park and moving south. The pavement is always a little higher on my right side. I try to stay as middle of the road as possible, but should I start alternating directions? My lower back always hurts And I’m aware that this could be due to heel striking and posture but the fact that it feels very present on the right side makes me wonder if it’s related to that slight pitch perpendicular to the runner…
