Next door neighbour has recently installed this pergola (height just under 2.5m). I find it unsightly so I’d like to train my rose there in front of my fence further up so it covers up my view of the pergola.

I don’t think I can extend the height of my fence (currently just under 2m high) as this will require planning permission.

Do you think I can install a standalone trellis of some sort, just in front of the fence, so that my rose can climb up instead? Or any other ideas?
