Keep your hopes high
The matches at Dharamshala proved to be lethal for us, with none of the results going our way and some poor performances ensuring we are now on a 6-match losing streak. But in sports, it’s never over until it’s over.
We still have one game left, and if the universe favours us, maybe we’ll be in the Eliminator, looking for a 4-match winning streak to finally break the curse.
It may sound impossible now, but the 7-match winning streak and this 6-match losing streak sounded impossible too.
We lost our recent matches to RCB, SRH, and GT - the current top 3 teams - and could still avenge those defeats in the playoffs if we manage to beat LSG, where the pitch should favour our bowling combination.
We have players in form, but they just haven’t clicked together at the same time. The mental pressure and trolling on some of them might also be affecting performances, but all it takes is one match to change everything.
The hate we’re getting right now is a mix of our own frustration and rival fandoms trying to push us down when things aren’t going well — and honestly, that’s expected.
I’ve even seen people turn against the same players they were praising when we were winning, with some even calling Iyer’s appreciation fake PR.
The players themselves would want to answer all of this with their performances, so don’t drop your shoulders yet.
