New to fostering… super anxious
A week ago my co worker and I found 3 kittens on a ranch we work at. we have seen who we assume is the mom hanging around for the past 6 months. he could not take them b/c his girlfriend is super allergic and there are not a lot of rescues in our area. I hesitated to take them from their mom but they were so close to a busy highway I was worried they would get hit. we are still working on trying to catch mom. one of them is I pretty good condition. the other two have crusty eyes. I was able to get them into my dog’s vet a couple days after I brought her them home. she estimated they were about 5 weeks old. they are eating soft food fine, but not drinking much water. no interest in formula. she said the two have a little bit of an upper respiratory infection, but not enough to prescribe antibiotics. she did give eye ointment. that was yesterday. today one of them is sneezing a lot and sounds like they ar congested/wheezy. I was just hit by a wave of panic. What did I get myself into? What if I do something wrong and they die? What if I catch something or my dog catches something? This does not feel like normal anxiety. Anyone have any other experiences like this?
