Low Ferritin

Hi everyone! I just got my ferritin results back and it was 6.7. I’m a 31 year old female, also 22 months postpartum. My doctor says it’s “low normal” and I could “probably benefit from an iron supplement.” Everything I’m researching about ferritin though says that 6.7 is extremely low and something to take seriously. I have been very tired all the time, shedding a lot of hair, no motivation or energy, getting lots of headaches. What are your suggestions to fix this? Doctor said he’d call but hasn’t yet. Now that I know this info, I want to get started on fixing it so I can finally feel normal again.
