Maybe I #ed-up badly - salary reduced

First of all, I’m from Sri Lanka, and this year I’ve been working with a US company for $2,000 per month, 10 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Originally, they hired me as a full-stack senior developer, but later I also had to handle DevOps responsibilities for the same pay.

Today, my boss told me that they’ve been working on a new project, but it hasn’t generated any revenue yet. He said, “You’ll have to be a little lean on this for a few months.” Then he told me they could only pay me $1,000 per month for now, but once the project starts making money again, they’ll raise it back to $2,000.

At the time, I said okay, but now I’m feeling dizzy and stupid at the same time. I’ve worked late hours for them more than enough, and I honestly don’t know what to do now.

I don’t want to leave them hanging, but I also can’t keep working the same hours for 50% less pay.

If you were in this situation, what would you do?
