BCD - own or rent?

I have rediscovered scuba this year and have 3 significant trips planned in the next year plus some ad hoc dives here in Ireland. Should do at least 50+ dives. I am seriously considering buying the Hydros Pro 2 as it looks like a fantastic but expensive piece of kit that will significantly improve my overall diving experience. I assume in worst case I’ll be able to recover a readivsbjd portion of my capital outlay if it turns out to be a mistake. Any thoughts on whether this is overkill or should I just take my leap of faith!

Camera or not?

So I’m off on my first liveaboard in the Maldives in a week. I’m an intermediate level diver, reasonably confident, reasonably good buoyancy control etc. I’ll be ion nitrox and dives will be in the 20m region and not too challenging. “Best of Maldives” in Emoeror Leo. I have not done any underwater photography and appreciate its technically challenging. Is it worthwhile investing in any underwater camera kit eg GoPro or is it simply going to distract me from the pleasure of the dive and result in frustratingly average footage!?

Liveaboard scuba feedback in monsoon season in Maldives.

Planning a possible scuba diving trip to the Maldives in June to do a central Maldives liveaboard on the Emperor Leo doing the best of Maldives trip from Male to Male. Have heard varying reports about the wisdom of going in June due to weather concerns but am looking from feedback from those who have done Maldives liveaboards in the monsoon season. 🙏🏻

Looking for a dive computer for recreational diving that won’t break bank.

I am about to make a rentry into scuba after many years break and am looking at a liveaboard trip in the Maldives. As a dive computer is obviously essential I am looking at my options. I would like a biggish screen and easy underwater management. So nothing too fiddly!! Shearwater Peregrine TX comes highly recommended but is this overkill. I will be on nitrox and I really do want to minimize complexity and stress as I’m intermediate standard with about 40-50 dives in total.
