Hi everyone,

I submitted my PR application on December 25, 2025. Biometrics were completed on March 3, and eligibility was completed/passed on April 16.

I called IRCC on April 21, and they told me:

• Criminal background check: in progress
• Info sharing: in progress
• Security screening: not started

Today, May 19, I called again and received the same update. But this time, the agent mentioned that there is an officer note on my file saying that I should receive a final decision within one month from today.

I’m wondering what this usually means.

Does this suggest that my application is unlikely to go into comprehensive background/security screening? Or can IRCC still complete criminality, info sharing, and security screening within this one-month period?

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I noticed that in my PR application, the background check section in my GCKey account recently changed from “We are processing your background check” to “Not applicable.”

Does anyone know what this usually means? Has anyone experienced the same update before?
