Tips for shoulder pain while driving?
Hey all, I am finally learning to drive (im 27, lol). Initially I had a huge problem where I would drift to the right constantly, having to correct myself every few seconds and bounce around the lane. For ages I thought it was just a thing cars did, that they drifted one way or the other and you had to correct. It turns out (according to my brother anyways) that i am resting my hands on the wheel, and putting a bit more weight on the right side.
I started "holding" the wheel instead of "resting" on it, and the drifting has decreased. However, my shoulders get SO tired, so quickly. I get tired holding my arms upright in general, but moving them around and only doing it for the few seconds I need to has made it pretty unnoticeable. I cant do that while driving, and honestly is SUCKS. I have to move my shoulder around at red lights and rub it after im done driving.
I'm in the process of getting an EDS diagnosis, but I am most definitely hypermobile, have very stretchy skin, and classic EDS scars. I figure that even if it isnt EDS, it's a similar problem to what EDS patients experience and you all can help at least. Is there a brace I can wear? Maybe take ibuprofen? Idk.
